Monica, thank you so much for this information. I had always believed that Elspet died young, possibly as an infant but I could never prove it. Her father James Main died at 25 Dunbar St in 1920 so that ties in nicely.

Can you confirm that the parents on this death certificate were definitely James Main & Mary Sutherland.

By 1911 her brother Daniel was living in Glasgow.

Flying a kite here, could it be psoas?

Added: 'Psoas abscess is a rare manifestation of extrapulmonary TB, usually resulting from contiguous spread from a spinal source. Spinal column stability is an important consideration in patients with spinal TB.'
