Missing wife 1911 census
« on: Sunday 15 August 21 18:25 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find the wife of my great great uncle George William Guard in the 1911 census. In FreeBmd  I think his birth entry is South Molton 1864 under George Guard.
George W is in the 1871 census at Newhaven, Sussex as being born about 1864 Dartmouth.
1881 not found.
1891 he is William George Guard born in Dartmouth, working at Landport Drapery Bazaar.
1901 William G Guard, Visitor in Bournemouth, born Darmouth. Drapers asst.
1911 William G Guard drapery asst working in Southampton, born Dartmouth. Married.
I can't figure out in FreeBmd who he married. If anyone can work it out I would appreciate it. Thanks.

does it say how many years wed or anything useful?

Start by eliminating this qtr:
Marriages Jun 1905   (>99%)
GUARD    William George        Christchurch    2b   1465
IREDALE    William        Christchurch    2b   1465
Offer    Emma Clarice A        Christchurch    2b   1465
Pocock    Ellen Julia        Christchurch    2b   1465

Of course, it could have been an error in the entry.

No it doesn't say unfortunately. The Christchurch marriage looks hopeful. I'll see if I can find Emma or Ellen Guard in 1911. Thanks very much Pauline.

Think I've found her.  Florence Ethel Minchinton married William George Guard in Ringwood. Living as Florence Guard in Ringwood with her parents.  ;)  Thanks very much for helping. Always good to have someone to pool ideas with.
