family of William & Ann (Brooks) Edwards
« on: Tuesday 31 August 21 20:59 BST (UK) »
Looking for more information on the children of William (1818-1883) & Ann (1820-1896 Edwards. They both died in Shropshire county. I have 1851, 1861,1871 & 1881 census for them. I have records of child Mary Ann (1842-1933) married to Richard Hatton. I have birth registrations of their children Mira/Myra b.1851, Ann b. 1854 & William Henry "Harry" b.1859. I am looking for information on other children Joseph (in 1881 census with sib Mary Ann Hatton) & James and possibly another William born/died earlier.
Ann (my direct ancestor)is found in 1871 census with sister Mary Hatton. I have nothing after that until she shows up in USA in 1880. So looking for passage, possibly via Canada & also wonder if she had illegitimate child Frank/Francis ?1876. She mentions her sister Mary Ann & brother Harry back in England in her obit.
Any information to trace or complete my records on this family. Thank you

I'll keep the 1871 census in mind, but I am not sure about this marriage, as I think this is him in the 1881 census with his sister, Mary Ann Hatton. (his age 34, occupation steward).

There were 2 earlier Williams - in 1841 census William and Ann living Ludford with 1 week old William - baptised 29/5/1841 Ludford (birth entry confirms mmn Brooks), buried 18/7/1841 Ludford.  2nd William bp.11/10/1844 Stoke St Milborough, buried 27/10/1849 Stanton Lacy.

Joseph on the 1881 census is enumerated as married, but no wife with him.

Thanks Annette for the info on 2 Williams! And a 1841 census too.

Osprey - missed that married on 1881 census.
