« on: Saturday 04 September 21 09:18 BST (UK) »
Hi, Everyone,
I wonder whether there is anyone privy to the PR's for St Andrews Church Glaston who could tell me whether there is a baptism in late 1875 for a George Frederick BUTCHER, parents George Frederick and Elizabeth...?
Many thanks, Keith

There is a private baptism - 4 May 1875 - Fred son of George (Labourer) and Elizabeth Butcher of Glaston.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi again, Trish!
Thank you so much for confirming all that circuitous rites of passage for this BUTCHER family, who were quite nomadic between the 1871 and 1881 Censuses.  It's very good to have it all down in your usual organised and proficient way in contrast to my own haphazard way of doing things on scraps of paper - still!
And BumbleB, thanks so much for confirming that the family were fairly settled in the tiny village of Glaston for a while.  With those all baptisms.  Were the other siblings a "job lot" of baptisms on a particular day.  Several years after they had all been born?  Apart from (George) Fred(Erick?) that is, his own close to the day he was born there.
I wonder why they later upped and went to Sheffield, where several of the family died not long afterwards...
Keith

Yes, the 3 girls were all baptised on the same day, and just the basic information in the register - image available on FindMyPast.
