Robert Slater & Ann Allen
« on: Sunday 05 September 21 17:20 BST (UK) »
The above couple were married in 1718 in Barrowden.  I am searching for their children and have only found Anne born 1719.  There is also another child Mary born 1722 in Harringsworth.  I seem to have run out of Parish registers for this couple.  Has anyone else been researching them or how can I access the registers?

There is also a marriage in Uppingham in 1720 - Robert Slater of Harringworth & Margaret Vollam of Thorpe, by Licence.  Info is from my Rutland CD, but transcribed on Familysearch a Robert Slaytor & Margaret Vollum.

Burial at Harringworth 9 Dec 1723 - Margaret wife of Robert Slater.

Were there two Robert Slater's?

There is a baptism of Mary, daughter of Robert and Anne Slater, in Harringworth, Northamptonshire, on 12th August 1722.

She was buried on 16 Sep 1728

Thank you to all for your input into this connundrum.  Yes, there were quite a few Slaters in that area as far as I can see - I have seen Johns, Thomas's etc.so there may well have been two Roberts.
I can see I will have to pick up the baptism for Mary and scroll through all the pages.
Thank you all for your help

also in Harringworth baptisms to Robert & Sarah Slater

Anne 21 July 1726 buried 24 July
William 23 Jan 1724/5

marriage 19 April 1724 Robert Slater & Sarah Billing so could be the Robert who was previously married to Margaret.

I think there was more than one Robert Slater.  You are probably correct that the Sarah replaced the Margaret that died in 1723.  I think I found Anne who married the Robert in 1718 died as a widow in 1741 after Robert's death in 1736.  The records are scant on information (when they died they didn't matter any more).
