William HORROCKS s probate 1970  has Critchly as middle name

If it's correct man

He died in skegness Lincs 7 Oct 1970
Address 17 drakes road
Worth looking at electoral rolls maybe to find if other HORROCKS lived at that address

It would be very interesting if any Critchley-Horrocks took a DNA test

I've just found the war record for William HORROCKS  of Salford who died  April 1916
His pension records lists his unmarried wife Alice Chipchase as next of kin
Son is William critchley-horrocks b June 1916
* Sorry that information has already been found and the original was posted

A summary of some findings so far

Alice  (maiden name ROBERTS ) B 1888
Had a daughter violet JONES 1908 ( No evidence of a marriage )

By 1911 she was going by HORROCKS living with her parents 5 sisters and her daughter violet JONES
She never married William HORROCKs but
Baptised son William critchley HORROCKS  from church street

Quite a trail to follow ..the army pension must have had a job finding her because surname HORROCKS was crossed out and changed to CHIPCHASE

In 1918 she married Edwin Bell
&  married
Richard Chipchase in 1919
and had daughter Mildred CHIPCHASE in 1925

Alice's son  William chritchley HORROCKS was probably the father of Garry Will CRITCHLEY-HORROCKS 1953 -2014

Dora JONES married William Critchly HORROCKS
Another son was Terry Critchly HORROCKS 1944-2019
Later Terry and children all changed surname to HAMILTON

Dora remarried in 1979 to John CaLVER

The other William HORROCKS Baptised address 3 tatley st
b1914 i probably son of Joseph HORROCKS  + Alice ROBERTS  who married ABT 1906 salford

An Edward HORROCKs married Mary j Roberts in Bolton 1917 ( could 2 sisters have married 2 brothers ?)

So where did the name Critchley come from and when did it start being hyphenated

An addition to extended   family  of
William Critchtley HORROCKS d1970 his own crematorium organised by son Terry of Critchtley HORROCKS 24 Sincil bank Lincoln

William  had a nephew  Roy  Kenworthy  who died as baby
Mother Alice listed as Jones or Kenworthy on birth record

Death
Dec 1946 • Weaste, Cemetery, Salford, Lancashire, England
Roy was buried in a family grave with his aunt Mildred Chipchase( listed as incapacitated in 1939 ) she also died (unmarried) in 1946
Baby Roy also buried with his great aunt and uncle Nellie Mcdonagh and Mathew Mcdonagh and their still born child. They are buried in the Roman Catholic section Grave 818 Plot N Class C

So that's even more surnames that could be thrown up in DNA matches
