Sarah Parsons
« on: Sunday 12 September 21 09:26 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to find details about SARAH PARSONS a daughter of Harmon Parsons and Helen/Ellen Dodds Wright Keen. She would have been born shortly after 1886 when the last known child Mabel was born.
I believe I saw where she might have married a man named Bedell or Bidell and that she die in the early 1930's in NSW, but I can't find that information anymore.
Harmon died in 1915 and Ellen died in 1918 aged 77 years, and they had 13 other known children between 1867 and 1886.
Hoping someone can assist with finding Sarah.

There is a death registered for

Sarah E Bedell. In New South Wales 1932 Sydney. It gives father Harmon mother Ellen.
 From Australia death index.

There is a tree on Ancestry that has "not all of the family as Richard died an infant"in a photo taken on the day of Ethel Mauds wedding.

When Harmon died, his eight living daughters are listed here.

None of them is clearly Sarah under the women's married surnames listed.
However, to take into consideration  the possibility of multiple marriages, we will need to dig a little deeper to see if she is one of them.

So to match up with the daughter's surnames stated in Harmon's death notice , we have  (you can search the years and  registrations etc yourself)--

Agnes S married Richard MOORE
Ethel married PETERSON
Annie E married Ernest WILSON
Ada N. married Robert DAVIS
Mabel married LANG/LAING
Jessie M married Montague LANGWORTHY
Mary A married Robert LAYTON
Rhoda E married John CORLISS

Sarah is not mentioned as a surviving daughter.

a couple of thoughts ....
Mabel was a twin with Lillian. What happened to Lillian?
Agnes was Agnes Sarah. Did she change to using Sarah?

Neale1961 suggests this possibility:

Agnes was Agnes Sarah. Did she change to using Sarah?
Seems unlikely given this death:
NSW  1967 registered at Parramatta
Agnes Sarah MOORE, parents Harmon, Ellen

And this thought:
Mabel was a twin with Lillian. What happened to Lillian?
Lillian died young:
NSW 1887 #10392, registered at Morpeth
Lillian PARSONS, parents Harmon, Ellen

A couple of other possibilities for consideration.
First  thought
*  Sarah E BEDELL was not at all connected to the PARSONS family.
The only link being evaluated is the names of her parents, Harmon and Ellen
The maiden name of this deceased woman is unknown, her marriage is not located.
No death certificate is cited.

In England I can see a number of men named Harmon who share the marriage index page with a woman named Ellen and possibly produced a child named Sarah E
Likewise there are a number of men named Harmon in NSW too

Second thought
*Margaret PARSONS was the oldest daughter of the couple and she died a few years after her 1892 marriage to Robert CAMPBELL.
It is possible that she or her sister Mary were of an age to have a child before their marriages.  Perhaps Sarah, not registered, but who believed her parents were Harmon and Ellen PARSONS. Attempt to maintain propriety in a small community.

The photo which was linked by tazzie is accompanied by names of the subjects.
Sarah is not one of them.

Seems to me that the death certificate could provide some answers.  (Cheaper to buy a transcript, of course)

NSW 1932 #5098, registered at Sydney
