Start with locating the marriage.  Extend year range and location. Tell us which it is

Should be a rare enough surname to locate in 1939 and the death indexes.

That gives a birth year,  so you can search births too.

You don't appear to have looked for the marriage on freebmd to establish the year or county?

You will find it was a long time after "around 1940's"

No indication of either of their birthyears or birthplaces or what his or her middle names are
