Hope the visit went well LM.
I know you were bothered by the refreshments angle, so I trust that was sorted easily enough, and with luck you also found a few nuggets for your family history.... 6 cousins from the same side should have been a rich vein of knowledge.
BORCHARDT in Poland/Germany, BOSKOWITZ in Czechoslovakia, Hungary + Austria, BUSS in Baden, Germany + Switzerland, FEKETE in Hungary + Austria, GOTTHILF in Hammerstein + Berlin, GUBLER, GYSI, LABHARDT & RYCHNER in Switzerland, KONIG & KRONER in Germany, PLACZEK, WUNSCH & SILBERBERG in Poland.

Also: ROWSE in Brixham, Tenby, Hull & Ramsgate. Strongman, in Falmouth. Champion. Coke. Eame/s. Gibbons. Passmore. Pulsever. Sparkes in Brixham & Ramsgate. Toms in Cornwall. Waymoth. Wyatt.

Fantastic  time, we  ate  out, I decided  I  didn't  want  to  be in the kitchen slaving  over  a  hot stove and  missing the  conversation

There  is  still some  confusion about my  grandfather's  place  of  birth,  5  of  us  shared  the   same  grandfather  but  only myself  and  the  youngest cousin   is    interested  in  family history, so  when  my  DNA  come back we shall see  if  he  was  born  in Wales   or  not

I got  out stacks  of  photographs,  some  the  cousins  had  never  seen and of  course there  was  much  hilarity,  some  copies  were  asked  for, something  my  husband  will copy for  me.

So, today  will seem  a  very quiet  day, not  a  lot to do  but  I  expect  I  will find  something  as  always

Beautiful  day  here

LM

How is your foot MH?Getting better I hope.
Your sense of taste Roobarb? Is any type of food tastier you you than another?

Nice to read of gatherings ,music, etc.

My son in law has his 60th birthday Spitfire flight today from RAF Duxford , we all clubbed together ,the staff at the franchise too wished to join in.
Wonder what FH has said at school .
Hope it is a clear fine day ,when we visited a few weeks back there was a flight up in the clear blue sky ,amazing aerobatics ,and sad too as you could not help but remember the young pilots, some only 19 in The Battle of Britain
over the fields in that same area.

Well a cheeky squirrel was sitting by the little pond this morning ,no idea why as no food out in the garden at all since the rat episode .
Grey of course.
My Bramleys are getting a bit rosy and the odd one has fallen.
Need a week or two more yet,not so big as usual .
Got a dogwood to prune and a flowering currant .

At Drs. Yesterday.
Been having a pain in my Rt.  calf .
On blood thinning tablets but I also thought my calf was a little larger than my left .
Anyway Dr. saw me as urgent ,measured my calves ( calfs?) with a gadget and poked around a bit ,both the same , said ut seemed like a slight case of
Phlebitis ,not a DVT .I said how comparitively sedentary I had been since no dog and lockdown and eye treatment .
She had no worries and said to raise  my feet when I can to relax the veins and get some elasticity  back in them.
So no real worries there.

A dull day ,has rained , coolish.
The Geraniums are lovely, not touched by slugs at all and still in full bloom -a bright stunning red.

Well some curtains  to make .
I like net curtains still,I can see out but no one can see in .
The window is a way from the pavement, garden in between  but people could see in if they wanted to.
I keep thinking about blinds but they look such a fiddle to keep clean and so forth.
Well must get on- post just arrived ,my premium bond might have won . ::)
Viktoria.

Yes I too am on Pravastatin 40mg and Ezetimibe10 mg.
Been on them many years.
My main worry is that the blanket prescribing of statins has contributed to the rise in dementia etc.
They strip cholesterol from everywhere despite our brains needing some .
There seems no way to control where they take it from.Brains lose more than they ought to in some cases.
Well according to a Radio programme some time ago.

Legs do ache ,but I can cope with that, it was the localised new ache that bothered me.
All OK though,well not serious.

My Dad’s roses are opening ,a sharp pinky red.
He tried for years to train a rose into a cascading shape ,training the twigs round a hoop from a barrel that had contained grapes,  we had a green grocery shop.
The little wooden barrels were filled with cork nibbles ,hence the breakfast cereal called “ Grape Nuts.”

The sun has just come out ,surprisingly.

With all the taradiddle re bins from last Friday to Tuesday, once again they have not been emptied .
Today ought to have been paper and card collection .
Only one person has put their’s out ,what do they know that others don’t.?
The lorry has not been ,no idea why.

Oooh isn’t life exciting -bins not  emptied.!
Hope everyone is alright ,getting better and coping with life’s vississitudes - or something like that!
Cheerio.Viktoria.

That was only one report L.M.
No doubt there will be others giving different results ,but I only heard the one
which said the brain needed cholesterol.
Statins were not selective, so would take it from wherever.
Do I die from another heart attack or do I sink into Dementia ?
I will think about it tomorrow!———if  I remember !

Well, just phoned my son in law, had his Spitfire flight today.
We must have phoned at the same moment things were all mixed up.
Was absolutely ecstatic , emotional and excited.
Clear sky - just a little cloud for the experience.

Flew over the franchise where the crew had marked out in the gravel drive
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ——-they all wanted to contribute to the cost so that was most generous of them.
They got a wing waggle .
The airfield at Duxford is reasonably near .

The plane had seen active service ,not exactly sure of its full history.
He was overwhelmed at the power 19 year olds had in their hands and also the women pilots who delivered the planes to theRAF airfields.

So a lovely present all round.

Viktoria.
