Out of interest i had a look at trees on ancestry

There is a 1867 marriage certificate of neal KEENEY ,+ Isabella HENA which 10 ancestry members have copied so it would be worth looking at their profiles even if their dna doesnt match or they havent tested they might have photos to look for family resemblances or information which would show an English connection

A KELLY connection is through their daughter Anne KEENEY b 1869 who emigrated to Philadelphia USA
her descendants would match you. But have the Kelly surname .
+ Be related to their KEENEY relatives in Ireland

Do you know where your nan lived in Ireland  did she work on one of the farms ?
The Keeney siblings were all born in stormhill donegal between 1868+1887

Other surnames to test if this theory is correct are the children of mary & john GILDEA 3 sons b 1905-1909 photos are on trees
FENNEL
 MAGUIRE
BRENNAN
MCHUGH  husband of rose agnes whose children were also born in Philadelphia

No one stands out as being a potential father from what I’ve seen. A lot of the potential ones seem to have been born in the USA so it could have been a holiday romance even ??

My nan went over to Dublin during the war years with her sisters and their partners to escape the war. I got in touch with my nans sisters daughter on ancestry who told me my nans sister is still alive. Unfortunately she has dementia and is 96 so she couldn’t help.

I have hired a professional to have a look on fiverr. Her prices are quite reasonable compared to the ones on ancestry’s website at £75 for 5 hours.

Yes my researcher added him and my dna matches trees as floating trees.

I did send you a link, does it work? If not, if you send me your email address or ancestry username I can add you that way.

No it didn't work ! I've sent my email in pm
Thought I'd replied this morning ..oops

Ps tip
When you get further your floating trees
If possible link them with a hypothetical person so connections will show up to the most distant answer

It looks like the Keeney Heena links are correct ones .have you seen the wonderful photo of belle heena and helena KEENEY with spinning wheel outside an irish cottage ?
How many of the people who've shared that photo match your mums  DNA or provisional tree

I recommend asking modifier to alter topic title and include surnames of potential grandparents( keeney heena mchugh ? ) & a location(Donegal) to distinguish your post from similar ones and attract attention of people who dont look at dna board but might be related ( you can also transfet the topic to a regional board at a later stage)

Looks like you're making progress and i see the spinning wheel photo now on your tree.

Can i give some advice which will help show up more thru lines and find people who have not dna tested but do have trees with same family members.

# writing female names do NOT  put "Keeney was x"
Or "HEENA nee Y" in surname box
If you do only matches who have worded it exactly the same will show up ( often people who have copied trees off each other)

Recommended to
Put the birth surname in the surname box and the married surname in suffix box .

Sometimes if looking for pre marriage documents or censuses its best to leave off the suffix

Thanks for the recommendation. I started doing it but I will finish it another time. I don’t fully understand thru lines to be honest so need to look into that more.

My researcher started yesterday but they were doing the update which slowed the site down so she said she was going to carry on today. I havent heard from her as of yet.
