Croydon Times, 21-11-1934:

    THORNTON HEATH DIVORCE
In the Divorce Court on Thursday of
last week, Mr. Justice Bateson heard the
petition of Mr. Victor Ewart Harris, of
Foxby-road, Thornton Heath, for a decree
of divorce against his wife, Ruby Clare,
on the ground of adultery with a
co-respondent named Dewey. The suit was
not defended.
The marriage was in October, 1917, and
they lived together till 1925, when they
parted. Dewey had come to the house as
a lodger. Adultery was alleged at an
address in Clapham.
His lordship granted a decree nisi.

well at least twice possible/prob more , and caused the above .. if he has an obit it would be interesting (if the truth was told!)

is there any records of Mary Ann Oakley (divorce?) before her 2nd marriage in 1929 (her brother Willian Henry Oakley was editor/manging Director of the Surrey Advertiser in 1920's so he may had pulled some strings?)
