Desperately seeking Susan (wife of James Biggins)
« on: Wednesday 22 September 21 12:04 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for Susan who was  married  to James Biggins.  She could be Irish as the family spent time there or from Sheffield. but we have nothing else on her. Born circa 1790. Not even a marriage.

James Biggins was  born 1791 Sheffield died 1841 Sheffield.

His parents were Andrew 1769 to 1827 (Sheffield) and  Mary Parkin  1771 to 1821 again Sheffield

Their children:

Henry b 1820 Limerick, Ireland
William b 1823 Limerick  – died 1871 Sheffield
John b  1825 Ireland -  no dod  was not on 1841 census
James b 1827

I was wondering of anyone can claim her or throw a bit of light on our brick wall.

Many thanks

James a Filesmith & Susan. Child

James BIGGINS   Baptism   05 Aug 1827   Yorkshire, West Riding   Sheffield : St Peter and St Paul : Parish Register

This is all I can find on the family in Sheffield. I do not see a death for James 1841 Sheffield?

Do you know when & where Susan died?

You are saying that both James & son John died 1841.

As Colin has said - no death for James in 1841.  There is a death in Sheffield in 1840 for a John Biggins aged 14

Henry appears to have married Mary Pickford in 1841 (not the actress😂).

Hi again

15 yr old John is the son of James and Susan, for some reason living with relatives.  As for James dod I can find nothing concrete other than he wasn't on the 1841 census which means nothing.....

My search for Susan is not going well..... in fact its going nowhere.

Susan may have been born and/or married in Ireland.  Two of her sons, Henry b 1820 and Henry b 1823 were born in Limerick.

Does anyone have access to Irish parish records or any thoughts that may help us track her down.

Many thanks

Children named in opening post were born in the 1820’s so unless his first wife died & he remarried another Susan/Susanna it’s not the same person
