Arnold and Moore families help please
« on: Wednesday 22 September 21 20:38 BST (UK) »
I amseeking information on the family of William Thomas Arnold born 17.6.1870 in Omagh, County Tyrone. His parents - Joseph Arnold and his mother Eliza Moore. William left Ireland for Scotland and there he met Annie McCutcheon also born in Ireland, County Tyrone I think.  They married in Rutherglen, Scotland in 1907.  Any information or advice much appreciated about their Irish families.

Thank you

I wondered about the following 1853 marriage, the parties were recorded as Joseph 'Arneil' of Coolaughy (perhaps Coolaghy in Ardstraw CP?) and 'Jane Elizabeth' Moore of Gillygooly in Drumragh CP:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1853/09458/5427047.pdf

Edited to add:

Look likely that it's the correct couple... A daughter Elizabeth was born to this couple (spelled 'Arneel') in 1865 at Mullaghmena:
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1865/03585/2321621.pdf

The civil death registration index shows a death registered in Omagh district in Q3 of 1865 for an Elizabeth 'Arneal', aged 0.

Son Andrew, (that was present at death of Joseph) on 1911 census.

Andrew married Annie McGuire in 1897

Added.
No sign of them on 1901 census. Son Robert's birth in 1898 & Matilda's in July 1901 are available but Elizabeth's is missing.

Just posting this as a possibility on your McCutcheon side, there was a couple called Robert McCutcheon and Frances McKeown who got married in County Tyrone in 1879...

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1879/11081/8055240.pdf

To cut a long story short, when looking through the detail on their various children, I noticed the following birth registered for civil purposes for a daughter Anne in January 1882... at Mullaghmena... hence the significance.

Here were Robert and Fanny (McKeown) McCutcheon in 1901, no sign of Annie, but you can view the births for the other children on the 'irishgenealogy' website:

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Tyrone/Mountjoy_Forest_East/Mountjoy_Forest_East/1746265/

By 1911, Robert, Fanny and 3 of the children - Robert, Matilda and Emily - appeared in the Scottish census living at 6 Richmond Terrace, Rutherglen, Robert senior and junior were coal mine hewers and Emily was a clerk in a coal depot.

Just seen the 1907 Arnold-McCutcheon marriage record, the address for both bride and groom was 6 Richmond Terrace, the witnesses were a Robert and Matilda McCutcheon and the bride's parents were recorded as Robert McCutcheon and Fanny McKeown - so the correct folk I've posted above.

In the 1879 marriage registration for Robert McCutcheon and Frances McKeown, the groom's  address was given as Mullinatoomog - which is the townland of Mullanatoomog in Drumragh civil parish - and the bride's address was given as Aughnamoyle - which is the townland of Aghnamoyle in the same parish, both just NW of Omagh:
