The daughter was born 1948 to the second marriage and was named in the opening post hence my reply about removing her name.  It is her marriage in 1968 referred to in my reply

I can see a male birth in Portsmouth in 1948 and a female birth in Lower Agbrigg in 1950 with a slightly different spelling of the surname.

So I must be going wrong somewhere.  Was I wrong with who I had James married to in 1945?

James Frederick Peckham aged 85  Birth 24 May 1892
March qtr 1978  Crawley  18  2053

Jessie Caroline Peckham aged 80 Birth 25 Apr 1903
Registration Jan 1984  Crawley   18 2039

What struck me was that James was 53 when he remarried and Jessie was 42.  She was 45 when daughter was born

Births Jun qtr 1903
Bryant    Jessie Caroline    Greenwich 1d   1067

As Jessie was not previously married - I can't see a birth for the daughter originally mentioned in opening post but there is a marriage in Sussex for the name given

Can you pm me the name of the daughter Carole?  When I checked the Sussex marriages for 1968 only three females came up.

I'm wondering if the child was adopted.  It seems strange that there is no birth record for her.

Ah that makes more sense.  It was the son Kenneth who had a daughter in 1948 not the father James.

Looks like Kenneth died in 1996.

One of the 1948 births certainly matches with the maiden name of Kenneth's wife.  I must have misread fathers name.  It was his daughters marriage in 1968.  Same advice applies as Kenneth's daughter may have some info
