Francis mother was Fanny Birdsall if you zoom in you can see it.  I imagine the registrar was trying to figure out how to spell it. It's a very common combination in England.  Maybe Robert was working the mines in England or she was a servant in Scotland.  Matter's not Fanny is in the 1841 Census for St. Ninians with Robert and her family and in the 1851 but not the 1861.  The 1851 has her age at 57, 10 years younger than Robert.

Ann's mother was a Steven it states that on her death. Btw the informant was a son-in-law.

     Francis Stevenson, son of Francis Stevenson, Wool Dyer, and Ann Stevenson ms Miller, died 8th April, 1867 at Bannockburn, Stirlingshire aged 16 months. [Statutory Deaths 488/00 40 - St Ninians, Stirling]
