The Special Forces in the Falklands were SBS & SAS.
This looks metallic so may not be military as they
tended to be cloth.

Looks like home made. See the wrists/hands through it, so glass or Perspex-acrylic.

It does not look very military. The Falklands war was almost 40 years ago so your brother's friend would be about 65 years old now at least because you had to have quite a bit of service in before you could apply for selection. If he is around that age he could be telling the truth, having said that there are a lot of people who like to pretend they were something they weren't, special forces people do not normally go around telling people what they did or even admit that they did serve.

Good evening,

It looks like a piece made of stained glass. About 10in by 15in approx.

It doesn't match anything iv'e seen worn by the SAS or SBS.

I think this is what the wall plaque represents:-

The Falkland Islands 3 Peaks Challenge involves yomping (walking) up three mountains, Tumbledown Mountain, Two Sisters Mountain and then Mount Longdon situated behind Stanley within 8 hours. The total walking distance is 10.5 miles (17km) and the total ascent is 549 metres (1803 ft).

Is his name here? :-
