Yes, I did notice a Whitton Suffolk chap in the 1871 census who maybe the same one you found Milliepede. I haven’t had any luck finding “Warmond/Starmond”.  :-\

The other Ws on the 1871 census and look more like Ms so I don’t think the place name starts a W.

Added: I had a look through all Suffolk place names in Genuki and couldn’t see any that needled in “mond”. As your William was in Kent in 1871 I wonder if there was an error with interpretation of the place name if the enumerator was not familiar with Suffolk.  :-\

There is a William Sillett in the 1861 census with widowed Sarah Sparrow as head of household.

His wife is Elizabeth aged 44 b Bramford. He is 35 so born c1826. Ages differ, but older wife may tally with the William in the 1871 census.

Do you know much about the family? Do you recognise the surname Sparrow? Sarah is a “house proprietor” so maybe a landlady unrelated to the Silletts. No Sillett children are present though.

This William is born Whitton though Ancestry say it is “Potton”.

I initialy thought the William Sillet from Whitton was the same man. However the 1851 and 1861 entries conflict with the below information.

This is what I have regarding the William Sillett's from "Witford/Warmond" family
"Spouse" - Don't believe they married
Elizabeth Glover c.1822 Market Downham, Norfolk

Children
1848 - Mary Ann Sillett - Market Downham, Norfolk
1850 - Keziah Sillett - Huntingdonshire - Died 1851
1852 - George Sillett - "Spring Garden", Lincolnshire
1854 - Keziah Sillett - East Grinstead, Sussex
1857 - William Sillet - Borden, Kent

Keziah married into the Tassell family with whom I have DNA matches. Cross referencing them with other common matches makes me believe they are descended from, or related to, William Sillett (c.1759) and Jemima Sheldrake (1760) of Stonham Aspal. Their descendants spread out in the local area including Whitton. The above William Sillett, c.1825 from Whitton, is their grandson.

It looks a lot like Harmond Suffolk. There is a Hammond Suffolk near Bury St Edmonds . Orkrad

@OP:

Is there another capital "H" on that page?

The "N" on Norfolk is certainly a bit individual, so maybe it is indeed an H...

Thanks for that, JenB.

OK, so it is not an "H"...  :-\

I think this is the family in Lincolnshire in 1851. Although the ages are completely wrong, the birthplaces are very coincidental  :-\

HO 107/ 2103/285/5

New Street, Manthorpe cum Little Gonerby

William Siller, head, m, 38, laborer, Suffolk Crowful
Elizabeth do, wife, m, 35, Norfolk, Market Downham
Sophia do, dau, unm, 7, Essex ? Wiford
Mary Ann do, dau, unm, 2, Norfolk, Market Downham
Kasiah do, son, unm, 1, Huntingdon

Burial, Keziah Sillett of Little Gonerby, 28th April 1851* at St Wulfram's Grantham.

*Died only a few weeks after the census was taken.

Possibly William's birthplace is Crowfield?  near to Crowfield are Little Stonham and Stonham Aspal. Might these be 'Starmond' in 1871?  https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/SFK/Crowfield
