Problem reading old tenancy document
« on: Sunday 03 October 21 08:25 BST (UK) »
This document, from manorial records, refers to John A Barton (Hadlow, Kent). I assume that it is concerning his tenancy of part of Jopes Tenement in Hadlow, but I am afraid that I am totally lost with it.
Can anyone make sense of it, please.
The actual event was late 1400's, but this may be a later transcription.
Any help appreciated.

The main body of the entry is clear enough, but whilst struggling with the marginated text on the right I found this transcript and translation (page 25 of 113, first full entry)

Bookbox, thank you so much for that.  I had searched the internet, but was not able to come up with that!
Great help.
