John Sheehy & Mary Sullivan Marriage
« on: Sunday 03 October 21 23:45 BST (UK) »
Hi Guys,

I am looking for some help doing some research for a family remember who is stuck.

John Sheehy married Mary Sullivan in 17 February 1912 at Birr, Kings County.
His profession was listed as Lance Corporal and address was Birr Barracks
Strangely his fathers name was given as John Maloney not Sheehy?.

I am trying to locate John Sheehy in the 1911 Census/1901 Census, birth record and or military records. Can anyone assist in locating information about him.

Can anyone help?

.

I cannot read some of the writing  for occupation maybe you can?

Age just states full for both.
Marys Father is Cornelius Sullivan.

I found Mary in 1901:

Cornelius has already died by 1901.

Primarily searching for John and his family at this time.

John Maloney’s occupation looks to be ‘Time Keeper at Banntyne Mills, Limerick’.

...and Cornelius Sullivan's looks like soldier, Leinster Regt (although in 1911 his wife was a widow)

Soldiers in the census were listed by their initials.
Here is a link to 1911
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01qzc/

There is a J S, 31 yrs , Lance Corporal b Limerick in barracks in Birr. Here is the page - there are lots of soldiers. :)
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01qzb/
His number is 5127.

This number links to John Sheehy in WW1 medal rolls
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01qzd/

The medal card can be seen on Ancestry and probably FindMyPast.

Does this age - 31 yrs in 1911 fit with your John in later records?
