Lincoln electoral register

I’m interested in the Swanpool Garden Suburb (just off Skellingthorpe Road, Lincoln).  It came under Tritton ward in the 1990s.  Prior to that it came under Foss ward.

I can’t find the addresses from 1936 and earlier, though.

Does anyone know which ward it would have come under?  The houses were built around 1919.

There are people in Hartsholme Drive, one of the roads in Swanpool Garden Suburb, in Foss Ward, on the Electoral Register in 1931.

e.g. Harry Hilton

Also Westwood Close, Cherry Grove and Almond Avenue.

That’s odd.  I stopped trawling through the electoral roll books as I couldn’t spot any records for 1936, 1935 or 1934.  I wonder why there was nothing in those ones.

The records online only go up to 1931.

Ah, I was looking at the records in the library.  They have records from 1920.

Foss ward isn’t listed in 1920.  Some books are missing.  1934, 1935 & 1936 only had one return each for Foss.

I did read something later yesterday that suggested Skellingthorpe Road area came under Skellingthorpe ward.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t find that at the library.

Library records go up to 1999.

There are records of Skellingthorpe Ward which mention Hartsholme and Hartsholme Lodge, Hall and Farm, but only from 1921 and no road names.
Looking at a map from 1832, they surround the Garden Suburb, whose records also start in 1921.
