Where could this be?
« on: Wednesday 13 October 21 19:48 BST (UK) »
It may be a longshot but I am gonna post it anyway. This photo was in my grandmother's photo album and we can't figure out what it is a photo of. The photo was taken in 1938 and she labelled it Folkstone 1938. My grandmother is in the photo and in 1938 she would have been 21 years of age older than school age. My grandmother was born and lived in Northampton. Any suggestions?

Do you have her in the 1939 Register, and if so, what is her occupation shown as?

It looks like a Training Course of some kind - teaching?

I would suggest Folkestone Grammar school for Girls. Looking at their older buildings it could be a match. My other suggestion would be West mount school which is no longer in operation.

1938 she would have been 21 years old, too old for school I think.

It could be a summer training session held on the school premises. I was going on the architecture of the building

I wondered if it was perhaps in preparation for WWII? Does it seem too far to travel from Northampton? If only pictures could talk.
