Samuel Thomas
« on: Thursday 14 October 21 12:00 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Looking for any help with regards to Samuel Thomas baptised 18th September 1796 Llangynllo . Samuel married Elizabeth Davies on the 13 th October 1823 but I don't know where. I believe the family were inn keepers and owned the Red Lion Inn High Street, Presteign . I would like to be able to research this family further back if possible .
Thanks in advance
Richie.

This is the only marriage I could find on FamilySearch and FreeBMD, but a different date.
St Beuno Parish Register Llanycil . Merionethshire . 232
04 May 1827 . Samuel Thomas of Llanfawr Elizabeth Davies of Llanycil
Witnesses: Robert Roberts . Catherine Evans
Are you sure of the date?

I've not looked up any records so far but this is just to say that Llanfawr and Llanycil are parishes in the area adjacent to Bala Lake (llyn Tegid),. Both are in Merionethshire.

Samuel also had a brother, Benjamin bpt Llangynllo, Radnorshire on 6 May 1793

I've not found a marriage so far for the parents, Benjamin Thomas and Elizabeth,  in Radnorshire.

Have to got off now. Will look later unless someone else can find them.

One more before I go

The family are still in Presteigne in 1851. All except Thomas were born there. Thomas was down as born Llangunllo/Llangynllo.
