I thought that I'd mentioned this but obviously not!

The nearest baptism that I can find for Elizabeth is also in Llangunllo (although on 51 is down as b. Presteigne), using her approx age from census is

15 March 1805  Elizabeth to David and Sarah Davies

In the will only his son Samuel who is ill and confined to his bed, and daughter Elizabeth,  wife of William Lewis Inland Revenue Officer,  seem to be the only family mentioned.

Thank you for all your help.

I have also found the following information.
Elizabeth Thomas (wife of Samuel Thomas) of the Red Lion Inn, High Street, Presteign died 20th March 1856 aged 51.

Samuel Thomas of the Red Lion Inn, High Street, Presteign died 11th July 1857 aged 62. His son Samuel aged 30 died there on 15th July. They were buried together at Presteign on 17th July.

In his will Samuel Thomas sen. named as executrix his daughter Elizabeth the wife of William Lewis inland revenue officer.

Elizabeth , daughter of Samuel married William Lewis and moved to Alloa Scotland where my grt grandfather Walter Lewis was born. They then moved to Hackney where I believe William died and the family ended up in the workhouse.

I appreciate all the help .

Richie

Just a thought about Benjamin Thomas and Elizabeth.
There's this marriage in Brampton Bryan, Hereford. This is to the North of Presteigne but not all that far away. It might be possible as it would fit with the birth of the eldest daughter in 1784.

3 October 1783
Benjamin Thomas and Elizabeth Crump.

No image so I can't give any more information.

Elizabeth Crump was bpt 16 Feb 1759 at Brampton Bryan. Parents - Jacob and Elizabeth

This is info that needs more investigation.
