Without wishing to sound ungracious, I will put here a comment.

I am not in the slightest surprised that the simple glitch persistes.

When the Victorian BMD search site was "revamped and updated" a few years ago, it went from being a very user-friendly working resource to what we have today and it took many months to become even functional.

Emails and complaints were politely  acknowledged but action was glacial. ;)
I personally find its formatting difficult quite awkward.

So let's hope the problem is being looked at and resolved soon.
Meanwhile there is Ancestry with all its omissions and odd spellings or the old discs.

Yes VIC BMD are possibly THE worst "Govt" department to get information out of.  I rang them to alert them to the problem with an Historic Marriage search on their Web Site and the phone wait time was 3 hours.  I hung up and sent an email and surprisingly I received a reply 2 days later.

I actually like the revamped search bit on VIC BMD where they provide lots more information than the brief list you got earlier.

And as for Ancestry apart from the high cost of being a member, I've given up on members trees and the copying (mostly incorrect) without research.  If it's on two trees it must be right.  Grrrrr!!!!!  I've pointed out errors on Ancestry to be ignored by the tree owner.  But that's for another thread  ;D

This is now displayed on the VIC BMD Web Site.

Service interruption
There is currently an error affecting historical marriage searches. Marriage searches are not returning any results. A fix is scheduled for 9 November 2021. We apologise for the inconvenience.

The Vic BMD'S site will be closed for maintenance from 11 pm 9th Nov until 1 am 10th Nov.   Hopefully this is to fix the marriages problem.  Fingers crossed.
