So where to from there?

Was he born in Australia or elsewhere?  If he was your great grandfather you should know who he married.

When & where was their child - your grandfather - born

A few mentions on trove to do with his war time (wounding, return and honour board at Midland Junction Methodist Church), but nothing about a marriage.

The only marriage I can see for him is in 1924 to Ellen Kathleen BARBER in Essex ( Rochford 4a/830). Do you have this certificate? What is his status ie widow, single etc?

Modified to add:
There are mentions of a Mrs Ellen COPPARD in WA in 1935 on trove. However it doesn't mention her husband's name, but I'm guessing it is "A E COPPARD"

Yes
And many others.

I was not sure whether the Australian info was contained in the web of threads so I hope it is of assistance.
