I dont know much about Irish records apart from that they are hard to find.
Didnt know earlier censuses not available

By the way for future reference
If you add a comment to an old topic it gets pushed to top of board which gets renewed interest.

If Joseph married in 1856, his parents would have likely married before 1845.
