Thankyou, I do miss the things my OH used to get.
I could not look in a shop window ,” do you want it,let’s go in and I will get it for you.”.
If I said no need I knew that would turn up at Birthday time,Christmas or W.A.
Something will come to mind .
No rush.
Viktoria.

What  a  lovely  man, my  husband  is  not  good at  presents  at  all, in   fact  we  have  got to the  point  where  I  say  I  don't really  want  or  need anything.

To  make  you laugh years  ago  he  bought  me  a  toaster, I was not  best  pleased, I had thrown  one  out  because  I  didn’t  need one,  sometimes  after  I  bought  him  a  lawn mower,  did  i  get  my own  back, I  don't  know  as  we  did  need a  mower

Thanks everyone for their kind words.

We, brother and sister in law, rarely meet up for Christmas anyway so I’m not too bothered. I’ve been invited to friends on Christmas Day. I feel quite happy with that as my friend has shopped for me when I was “shielded”, ferried me backwards and forwards to various hospitals, and cheered me up. I have other friends who look out for me and friends at my church.

Last year on Christmas Day at the morning service the Minister welcomed us, announced the first Carol, the lights went off and the organ made a very rude noise! A wide area had a power cut for 41/2 hours. I was lucky my friend delivered my Christmas dinner they didn’t have a power cut!

Oh! happenings on Christmas Day.
I will try to be brief!
I weighed about seven stones, but for some reason thought I needed an all in one girdle.
Got one from my mail order catalogue.
OH took little boys a down to grandparents whilst I stayed at home to do Christmas dinner.
Had bath and started to put the all in one garment on.
I was 34 22 36 .
Decided that 34 would not go over 36 so instead of stepping into it I tried to put it on from the top.Well —- to be brief I was stuck with my arms imprisoned inside, the pudding was boiling dry probably, the meat needed taking out etc etc and I was stuck.
Thankfully I got out ,not sure now if OH came home and helped.
It was 61 years ago!
So after that I stepped into it as per instructions .
But I weighed seven stones ,what ever was I thinking of.!
OH laughed so much, but it seemed logical to me to do it with the larger part of the garment going over the smaller measurement first rather than the other way round .

Well, no rude noises but my gas boiler, just recently had a service ,grit found somewhere where it ought not to bec,was overriding the set times,it is doing it again!
Won’t obey the timer ,so off altogether and can call after8 - 15 tomorrow .
United Utilities had flushed the pipes and warned there might be a problem with grit last time .There was ,service chap showed me.
But don’t know what it is this time .
Thank goodness for service contracts .
I can put it on tomorrow I think with the timer on so won’t be cold then turn it off completely when the house has warmed up.
I think!
Goodnight everyone .
Viktoria.

Morning   folks
First  frost  this  morning  but  otherwise  a  nice  day  in Essex,  don't  mind  days  like  this  days  we  can wrap  up  warm

Happenings  on Christmas  day, my  mother  in  law made  gravy  as  one  does  till someone  complained  it  was cocoa,  she  never  lived  it  down, considering
she  always  had an  overful  house  on Christmas  day  I  am  not surprised .

Enjoy  all your  stories  Viktoria

MH,  nice to  see you online again, from  what  my  brother  tells  me  you  are  having  nice weather, although  chilly, specially today.

My daughter  visited  yesterday, she  now  has an awful  cold, she  sat  in the  garden and  we in  the  lounge, she  wouldn't  come  in, it  was  very  cold as we were  in shade  but prior to that  my thermo registered  25 degrees in the  sun,  if  only  she  had come  earlier  but she  took time  off from working at  home, really her  lunch hour

Hope  everyone  is  well

Lovely sunny day here yesterday but I was in no position to appreciate it, woke up with the dreaded vertigo again. Not as bad as last time and a bit better today so am hoping it doesn't last. So fed up of all this, I just start getting a bit of life back and I'm hit with something else. Despite the nurse practitioner saying it's not Covid related I'm not convinced.
Those of you who have long term health issues have my complete sympathy.

Poor you Roobarb. I hope it disappears soon.
OH has been for his covid booster today so that’s another job done.
