MyHeritage and the Scandinavian connection

You mention you have Scottish ancestry.

I'm following my father's Scottish Mackenzie line and, from what I've read, that clan originally insisted it came over from Scandinavia to Ireland, then to Scotland.

And there are Irish clans with the same claim, but isn't this going back before autosomal DNA tests can detect?

Not My heritage but Ancestry...

Husband born in the welsh borders, grandmother on his dad's side was from Shropshire and his grandfather on Dad's side was welsh.   Mother was from Suffolk (more of that below).  Not a complete tree but no obvious ancestors who have come from somewhere else

His mother born in Suffolk with a family tree can be traced back within Suffolk for hundreds of years.

I've not tested his mum with LivingDna but he has no mention of Scandinavia at all but does have a very small amount of german.

I think I'll upload him and his mum to My Heritage - I can do that can't I ?    The result might be interesting.

Yes, you can upload Ancestry kits to MyHeritage although you have to pay a one-off fee (used to be £35) to unlock the tools (e.g. chromsome browser) and see DNA details of shared matches, none of which you get with Ancestry, sadly.
