The passenger list is on the naa.gov.au website.  He landed in Brisbane, Qld as per that list.

  Largs Bay  arrived in Australia 19th June 1928.
First port, as was very frequently the case, was Fremantle.  Final destination Brisbane.  Passengers were disembarked at the major ports along the Australian coast along the course to Brisbane.

The man you are discussing was a 27 year old single farm labourer, born in England . He had departed from London and his intended permanent home was Australia.

His name was Robert HAISALL

While this may or may NOT be a typing error, how can you be certain he is the correct person with so little information given on the shipping record.

Not even his intended port of disembarkation.

So if you click on the passenger list, and go through it, you will see that Brisbane was the disembarkation port for Robert HAISALL.

The Index is simply noting the FIRST port of arrival for that vessel.

If your interest is in a man who is named on a document, which also references a birth and/or adoption in WA, you need to see the document.

I wonder if the document was created after the 1938 event.  If it is contemporary with the 1938 event, and records a birth and/or adoption, you might expect a location to be something more specific than just "Albany area"

What is the document?.  When was it created?.  Does it name a government department....an organisation?

Yes, Robert did disembark in Fremantle in 1928 ,as stated . He received permission from the RAF to come & live in WA . He was discharged from the RAF 14/5/1929 ,at that time living in YELBENI WA. He had a short stint as a casual with the WAGR in KORRALING.  Apart from information about the adoption in 1938 ,nothing more can be found ....YET
