Duke of Wellington West Riding Regiment - Private James Brotherton
« on: Wednesday 03 November 21 22:50 GMT (UK) »
Good evening

I am hoping to find some service information for my grandad, James Brotherton born 1895. He lived in Earby then served with the Duke of Wellington West Riding Regiment. I have a copy of his medal card but have no idea with which battalion he served. With kind assistance I have been able to find out more about his brother, Harry's service but know very little about James'.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Kind regards
Amanda

Hi

I think 307449 is mine but I didn't know about him becoming a Corporal. I'm pretty sure my dad told me he came back injured.

Wow, thank you  ;D

Do you suppose BW is bayonet wound to his left leg? Just a guess. GSW presumably is gun shot wound.  :o

Thank you  ;D
