The son John was a Japanese prisoner of War in WW2.
There is a record for his death in Ayr, Scotland in 1983

in 1977 a Diana Joy MALTBY is at the same address in Queensland

Looking at Electoral rolls I wonder if they divorced/separated.
in 1937 Hubert William senior is at St Catherine Tce, Wynum
same address a Mabel Alice Maltby.   No Janet.
