Anyone going to Bradford library?
« on: Thursday 01 September 05 16:43 BST (UK) »
If anyone is going to Bradford library and has some time to spare could you look up a house for me.
It is called Holling Hall, Denholme,Thornton,Bradford.
My relatives the Pickles lived there till 1929 and I have have traced them back to the 1841 census still there.
In 1841 it was a public house/beerhouse, the publican was Hannah Pickles.
I would like to know how far back the Pickles lived there and when it was built or any info pre 1841. I think at least in latter years it was owned by the mill owners the Fosters, my family rented it rather than owned it.
Tithe maps, electoral registers, poll books etc may be a good source.

Heres hoping, regards, Ju.
