my  grandmother  was  Kate  Elizabeth  wright
born  July 1883 ore 1884  in  G Yarmouth
we  are  now  not  so  sure  if  this  was  her  original name
in  the  1901  census  Kate  was  16  but  in  the  1891 census
there  was  no   Kate but  there  was  a  Rachael  age  6
we  have  not  found  any  registration  for either  off these  names  i  would  really  appreciate  some  help  on  this

Hi Ashleigh

Do you have her marriage certificate?  If so, could you please post all the information on that.  If not, it might be a good idea to try and locate that because it might have some more information to help find her earlier.

Kate  Elizabeth wright (aged 19)married  john  henry  cook (aged 29)
 5th  december 1902  at  yarmouth  registery  office
Kates father is listed as Samuel Wright boot maker
Johns father is listed as Robert George Cook labourer decessed

Ok, I see what you mean.  It is obviously the same family in 1901, 1891, 1881 but Rachel age 6 in 1891 and Kate age 16 in 1901 ???  The wife is always Mary of the same age b.Salhouse so it doesn't look as if there is more than one marriage which may have complicated things.

Have you managed to match birth registrations for the rest of the kids?

You could try sending direct to the local registry office giving all the information you have ie. parents names/occupations/addresses/dates etc. and ask them to check - they will usually check 2 years either side of a given date and will only issue the certificate if they find the correct one.

only  managed  to match  birth  registration  of
Arthur  Samuel  December  1882
 we  have  try ed  the  local  registry office  giving  all the  information  they  did  do  a  search  for  me  but  came  up  with  nothing   i am  Begining  to  believe they did  not  register
the  rest  of  the  kids
