Hi Wand,

The link is for the awards approved on 23rd September 1943 by The King for services in North Africa.  The London Gazette lists Frederick as being killed in action but no further details.

Hi Wand,

Try the relevant local archives/records office, their catalogue may well be online. My great uncle was promoted in the field and mentioned in dispatches during the first world war and the local records office for his regiment has a number of his papers and papers relating to him. I also found a reference to his military medal in a booklet produced by a local historian and available online.
