Labels and stars on MH
« on: Wednesday 17 November 21 10:51 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone else got a new format on MH? Left hand side of the match now has a label box, a star, and the pre-existing notes box (but now so small you can hardly see it).

BIB - not sure what you mean by this. You can type a lot of notes in the box.

Actually think the three "labels" could be useful
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

When the notes label was on the right, it was 3-4 times larger than it is now. It may be a function of my browser and clod-hopping hands but it's harder for me to click on it now.

I've got the update, and it is ok, but unfortunately, looks like you can only label a match with one tag, ie with only one family name, unlike the similar facility on Ancestry, where you can label  a match  with all the family names it might be linked to! Classically I label matches with the 2 surnames of the parental couple who are the nearest ancestors between you and the match.

** Sorry this was incorrect, you can ad label with more than one coloured dot, used to represent family names, by me!**
Allison - Rumford Stirlingshire & Ireland
Quinn - Rumford, Glasgow, Monklands & Tyrone
Convoy - Rumford, Monklands & Tyrone
Burke - Glasgow, Clifden Galway
Duffy - Cleland Lanarkshire, Monklands, Falkirk, Ireland
Curran - Cleland, Ireland
Reynolds - Cleland, Shettleston, Tollcross, Antrim
McDermott - Cleland, Shotts, (London)Derry

Jane, do you mean assign more than 1 coloured dot (where each coloured dot relates to a surname of your choosing)?

What I can't find is the filter it promises
