The ones I can remember were always very faded so I suppose they did their job.

Here's one. This isn't the door it was made for, this is many years later at a different house. Originally we lived on a terraced street with very small front gardens so no privacy once you had the door open. Thanks for the memory!
Far too many surnames to read through!
Main lines are:-
