Would you possibly be able to look at this image too (image 356)? https://www.archives-manche.fr/arkotheque/visionneuse/visionneuse.php?arko=YTo1OntzOjEwOiJ0eXBlX2ZvbmRzIjtzOjExOiJmYWNldHRlc19lcyI7czo0OiJyZWYxIjtpOjI7czo0OiJyZWYyIjtzOjY6IjJfNTk4NSI7czo0OiJyZWYzIjtzOjI6IjE0IjtzOjk6InNvcnRBcnJheSI7YTozOntpOjA7czoyNjoiU2FpbnQtTmljb2xhcy1kZS1Db3V0YW5jZXMiO2k6MTtzOjQ6IjE4MzMiO2k6MjtzOjIxOiJhZDUwX2V0YXRjaXZpbCMyXzU5ODUiO319&altoInput=#uielem_move=-406%2C-509&uielem_islocked=0&uielem_zoom=162&uielem_brightness=0&uielem_contrast=0&uielem_isinverted=0&uielem_rotate=F

It's the birth certificate for Louis Pierre Lecrosnier. I know he was born on the 27th of March 1841, and know all the relatives etc, but was wondering where precisely he was born. The parish is Saint-Nicolas-de-Coutances, but a transcription of his sister's birth says she was born in the 'village de la Mare'. The handwriting is very tricky; my other French ancestors were from further north in Normandy, and I can read those records quite clearly!

Pierre  Le Crosnier (father): né en cette commune et y domicilié Quartier de la mare
At the time of his son's birth, the father lived in Saint-Nicolas-de-Coutances,  'de la mare' district. So this is the place of birth for his children. Not a different village, but a specified part of the city.

Will have a look, but looks like she died in prison, maybe connected to the newspaper article about not reporting the birth of a child she delivered? There was certainly a woman's prison in Rennes called «Saint Hélier».

You're right. :http://patrimoine.bzh/gertrude-diffusion/img/6a3856be-9af8-4fe0-8a3b-0a7915ec6dd8

Maison de force = prison , rue st Helier in Rennes

How terribly sad. But she died on the 12th of December 1864, more than a year after being in the paper for a 20 francs fine. Perhaps she couldn’t pay, and then was imprisoned?

Could anyone please look for Angelique's burial? It says she was living in La Haye-Pesnel. I asked a gentleman to look in Rennes and he said she wasn't buried there. I'm wondering if she was returned home for burial. Or perhaps in Noirpalu, where she was born, or La Lucerne d’Outremer where she married.
