Will of Watson Scatchard
« on: Saturday 27 November 21 13:16 GMT (UK) »
Please may I have suggestions as to the words in the clips, attached.

First, the place after the name "William Moore".
Second, the word after "all other my".
Third, the last word on the line beginning "Estate", and the first word on the next line.
Finally, the word following Woodchurch.

I can provide larger clips if necessary. The image was obtained from the National Archives, and is not of particularly good quality, as is evident from the clips.

Thanks

...all other my heredits...     Note: also seen in Clip 3.

....whose tenure or occupation soever
except as...

...Woodchurch Clerk...

I want to look at the full page (in Ancestry) for the place name.

For the place name, I think the first word is:  Dunswell

The second word appears to be:  ffarmersor

Is there a Dunswell closer to Morley than the one near Hull?

Thanks once more, Horsleydown. I had wondered if the one word was heredits, but wanted a second opinion. I had also thought it was Woodchurch Clerk, but again uncertain as to whether it might also have been Cleric or Church. The phrase after Dunswell - could it be "ffarmers or in whose ever possession ...", with the first two words being run together? Willerby is near Hull, so Dunswell might also refer to the one near Hull, too, and the will does specifically refer to them being in the East Riding.

Yes, it could well be.  Taking the whole bequest from the second line onwards, that reading is grammatical & makes sense.  Probably he means Pickering and Moore are the farmers.
