Church of Ireland baptisms
« on: Tuesday 30 November 21 21:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi, im looking for a baptism of one Sarah Tucker born circa 1825 to a father thomas tucker. She married my ancestor William Wright in 1849 in St. Anne's parish church in Dublin. I've found William's baptismal cert but im having trouble finding hers. Im not very experienced with Church of Ireland records so if anyone could point me in the right direction in where to look for these? thanks.

Do you have any clues as to where Anne was born & baptised ?

There are some baptism records for St. Anne's on Irish Genealogy website but only starting 1873, earlier records are listed as lost.

Considering William was born in great strand street this could definelty be him as its so local, thank you! As for your other reply, the only record i have for sarah tucker is the marriage record, i havent even found a baptismal record for any of her children or a death record.

probable baptism of a brother to Sarah in St. Mary's parish Thomas Tucker Gt. Strand St. 1830

p.s. directory listing shows Gt. Strand St. was in St. Marys parish

This could definelty be her brother, considering how local it was!

edit to add - since bookbinder is a fairly uncommon occupation , this is very compelling

Shaw's Dublin City Directory of 1850 (information probably compiled the previous year) has Joseph Tucker, bookbinder, at 58 Great Strand St.
https://dublin1850.com/dublin1850/xdubdir85.html#Tucker

There is also a Thomas, 35 Cork St, but it is a tenement building so occupations are not listed.

Possibly. It's not a very common name in Dublin.
I note there is a James Tucker, bookbinder in the 1901 census.
