William and Margaret Round Willington Durham.
« on: Monday 06 December 21 15:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi folk's these are my Gt Gt Grandparent's their two sons Lorenzo Dennison and John Henry were
both born in Willington,William from Dudley in the midlands and Margaret from Mickleton Yorks neither
with any obvious links to anywhere where the name Lorenzo could have been "plucked" from.I was
looking on Familysearch and found a christening for Lorenza A.n..ia(as transcribed) which is the female spelling and registered a year previous to Lorenzo's birth anyone got access to records that
might shed light would be appreciated free BMD has no reference to Lorenza's birth in 1876.
thanks Steve.

His birth was registered in the July/August/September quarter of 1876. According to the record on FS he was born on 13th June 1876, so presumably his birth wasn't registered until the beginning of July 1876.

As Rosie has said his name appears in all documentation available as Lorenza not Lorenzo.

The baptism took place somewhere in the Wesleyan Methodist Circuit of Bishop Auckland judging by the film number on the FS record.

Hi folk's, strange because his name in the records usually is spelled Lorenza which is the female version
i.e.Claudio(m) Claudia(f).I have him in all the census etc he did enlist in the Great war but was in his late
thirties and was discharged unfit while still training,he died in Berwick 1961 but resided in Gosforth where
the Family moved to way back in the early 1900's Music teacher was his proffesion.I'm trawling through my pre-computer notes as I had Lorenza A. as a female buried within the year I think St Stephens Willington but cannot find a trace
of it now.

The choice of a different name may have been the name of a good friend or such like?

Who were witnesses to the marriage of William & Margaret which may hold a clue?

I have a sibling (5th born of 6) named after the Landlady of the flat my parents rented when 1st married & my youngest sibling named after a good/best friend who my mother became friends with after marriage.

Not all names indicate blood connections.
