Daniel Sumner Accidental death 1837
« on: Saturday 18 December 21 11:46 GMT (UK) »
I have a copy of a death certificate for my 5 x Great Grandfather Daniel Sumner.
He died October 18th, 1837.
He was a pump maker aged 63.
Cause if death is 'accident'
Informant was Daniel Sumner. Whitchurch
Registered 7th December.

I'd love to find out more about his death, so how would I go about finding info in the local newspapers at the time?

And obviously to ensure its the correct person.

Thanks

You can search British Newspapers online to see if there is any mention - there may not be.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

It appears there are few online newspapers for Shropshire. https://www.shropshirearchives.org.uk/collections/newspapers/

Hi Garstonite,

I think he was born in Tilstock.
And the date of his baptism ties in with his age at death.

I have a family tree with ancestry and there are others on there too.

But I'm never too sure if they're right.

Do you think they could be?
