Just wondering what others think this says. I believe it is Devars or Devers but I am especially waning to check the first names.
thanks

Devars or Devers but really depends where the passenger list was created as some continental writers and some US writers do not have the down stroke on their letter 'N". So if that was the case then the name may be Devans. You would need to look for names with the letter n in the name.

The first names to me are
Maria
Almiria/Alimira/Almira

Yes much easier for the 'n' query. Devars
Almina could be added to the list.

ETA Devers, Dever, Devar, Devars etc.

Well Found Neale.

I add a snip,  I think they were part of a group of seven SIX all travelling on the one ticket on the Star of India, departing from Liverpool, England.

JM  (Can I re-count - yes,  SIX names,  so I have modified, struck through Seven and replaced it with SIX.   I won't mess with the snip, it has six names.  :-[  :-[  :-[ off to the Abacus corner now at 11.39 a.m. 21 December 2021 - there's masks there !!!  Well Done to the leader of the Ancient Rellies, may I encourage my Uncle to actually join RChat  :) )

Thank you all. It raises a whole lot of new questions - like who are all the 6 passengers. The DEvers are mine but I don't know why they would be travelling with. Can anyone translate the names for me?

Louis Lotike
Conrad Lotike
Maria Devars
Almina Devars
Christian Ohnes
Fritz Mobrow

There may not be any family relationship. They may have all been from the same village or town, and their passage paid together by the local parish.
Where were the Devars from?

Hi Wivenhoe
I know my Devers (Christian Devers who married Wilhelmine Frittzer) settled in Rutherford in Victoria, AUS and were butchers. I have a reasonable picture  of my direct line in Australia. Originally, Christian and Wilhelmina came from Salzgitter, Germany and I am tyring to get a better picture of this. I am stumped on their families in Germany but also when they came. It seems Christian came over around 1859 but I have found no shipping record ofthis. Supposingly Wilhelmina followed in 1863 on the Star of India with their first 2 children - Christian and Alvena - hence my interest here in translating this shipping record. Although the ages do not match up.
