Tunist dealer
« on: Thursday 23 December 21 13:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi . I was wondering if anyone knows what a tunist dealer was .

My great x 3 grandfather Job Neild was born in 1834 in Uttoxeter and one of the censuses his occupation is down as "tunist dealer"

Thanks

If this is the 1861 census, then I think Job is a "Fruit Dealer".  :-\

I agree - on another census he is a fruiterer.

It has been wrongly transcribed on findmypast as ‘tunist dealer’. The original page says Fruit dealer as bumbleb and Annette have said.

Also an entry for William Thorley on the same page clearly says Fruit Dealer - 1861.
