Barklie of Mullaghmore, Agivey - Dunlap connection
« on: Friday 24 December 21 07:47 GMT (UK) »
James Barklie (born Inver, Larne) started a bleach green in Collins in 1796 (TH Mullin, Aghadowey). He died 1821 after complications from an eye operation for cataracts in London. He resided in Mullaghmore, Agivey.

The said James Barklie married a Miss Dunlap from Coleraine. I am interested in finding out her Christian name and when she died.

In 1838 his widow, one son and one daughter were still living in Mullaghmore (The Magees of Belfast, 1916 by Francis Joseph Bigger containing Elizabeth Barklie family notes wife of Hugh McCalmont, Abbeylands).

I am researching the Dunlap family of Coleraine, who had wollen drapery business on the Waterside of Coleraine and Killowen.

Great - thanks for that.
