Leese / Emery
« on: Friday 24 December 21 16:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone.  I'm struggling to find parents of Nellie Leese.  Born in 1914 and married thomas Emery in 1934. Nellie and Thomas are my great grand parents and came from stoke on trent . Specially the longton and meir area . Any info on parentage for either would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What is the 1939 entry for them?

What mmn appears for Nellie?

Hi,

Where did you get the year 1914 from?

Nellie's birth date on the 1939 census is 10th April 1912. Thomas' is 3rd December 1912.

If we have the right Nellie she had a sister Minnie born 1910 with mmm Thorley. They appear in 1911 census. Charles has a 2nd Christian name Locker, but cannot see a corresponding birth c1886

Trying to help but I’m on a phone in Canada on holiday and others may be able to help further. 1891 censu ref 2178 5 1 there’s a William Leese with a locker also in the household. There’s a birth on mq 1886 of a Charles locker with mmm Redfery

It's a weird bit of transcription by Ancestry - there's two adjacent households, some of whom have been mistrancsribed as a consequence

George Leese    37    Head
Charlotte Leese    30    Wife
George Leese    12    Son
Mary A Leese   9    Daughter
James W Leese   6    Son
Florence Leese   2    Daughter
Hannah Leese   2/12    Daughter

Household 2: Redferns have been trancribed as Leese

Lavinia Redfern    67    Wife
William Redfern    33    Son
Charles Redfern   31    Son widow
Ethel Redfern            4    granddaughter
Charles Wardle         9   grandson
Mary A Locker        21    boader b Fenton single

Guessing Redfery was  actually Redfern?
