Holywell Cemetery look up
« on: Tuesday 28 December 21 02:15 GMT (UK) »
My great grandmother was evacuated from Liverpool with my grandad and her infant son to Ivy Terrace in Greenfield. Whilst in Holywell she had a daughter Jean. Jean sadly passed away months later. Jean died 17 February 1946 and was buried in Holywell Cemetery. Recently we found paperwork relating to Jean’s burial and it said the grave was plot R6 322. Grave number 1479. The baby’s full name was Jean Watson. My family and I would be grateful if anyone could visit the cemetery and take a picture of the grave.

I see that the memorial is mentioned on the findagrave website, have you tried asking for a photo on there

Yes. I created the memorial and added a photo request a while back but it’s never been claimed. I checked the pictures that have been taken of memorials at the cemetery and they seem to be people who have travelled a bit to take a lot of pictures of family graves.

Perhaps there is no headstone, it may be worth checking with the cemetery to see if there is a stone to photograph

ADDED Infants are often put in with other unrelated people, does the paperwork give any more information

We don't know if there was a grave marker put there. No one has claimed the Find A Grave picture requested and no one has reported an issue with he request. We know it was a private grave, we have the deeds to the grave and it says it was purchased for Jean's burial.

You could also send a message (via the Find a Grave system) to the person who has recently added many records of Holywell.

It looks as though recent additions to findagrave are possibly put on by someone who is not local.  :-\

For someone to locate and photograph this grave they will need a map of the cemetery showing the area where the grave can be found and to know that there is a headstone to photograph.

This site is awful to try and contact the original person. I live in Greenfield. I have been researching ivy terrace.
I will look up the grave the next time I am up in Holywell.

My e mail is Sharon.lloyd1 @ Hotmail. Co. Uk so you can save me a trip if this has already been answered.
