Well I am even more confused now.

So we have 2 Mary Thomas's I guess.

One who married James Williams and one who married Joseph Taylor/

The Will is great and clear some info up.

But I am confused as to why Joseph/Mary Taylor name a son Mapson Thomas Taylor in 1793

I know trish, very confusing.  Maybe Mary married twice , but she would of married James under the name of Taylor?  mind you they could not afford divorce in those days or did not bother. But in a small place like Olveston. More research needed.  Another idea maybe there are 2 different Mary's but cousins and connected to the   Mapson Thomas family.
