Gertrude PETHERBRIDGE

Hi Everyone
    I'm hoping to find hopefully any details of the birth and/or death of the above Gertrude PETHERBRIDGE one of the three children born to MARY Petherbridge in the Newton Abbot Workhouse.

Mary M A Petherbridges three children:- The Newton Abbot Workhouse register of births confirmed Mary Petherbridge gave birth to 3 children,  Mary Elizabeth (1873); Gertrude (1875); and Sydney George (1880) in the workhouse. It looks like Mary was living in Broadhempstone before Mary Elizabeth was born.  I would like to know what happened to Gertrude if possible!  I am unable to find a birth for her on the GRO.  Kind regards and best wishes Dianna

Hi Thank you!  I have her birth date as March 7, 1875 in Wolborough (Workhouse??) and baptised there on March 19, it looks like!  Possibly! the one you found with Annie added!  Regards Dianna

Hi Wayne thanks for that, does look promising!  So that would explain why Gertrude is not on any census etc as her sister Mary E was living with her grandparents Frances Petherbridge Mill and Richard

1881 Census:  Mary M. Alice Petherbridge has not been found as yet.

1881 Richard Mill wife Frances and Mary Elizabeth Petherbridge aged 9 Granddaughter are in Dartington Devon.

There is a Mary M Alice Petherbridge who marries 1882 Newton Abbot 5b page 257

either William Henry Kinch or James Norman Larkworthy

Based on GRO and census James Norman Larkworthy married Caroline Jane WW Wotton 1882

Hi thank you amondg.  Would you believe I'm waiting for that certificate to arrive from the UK at the moment.  I ordered it on the 14th of December!  I know it will most likely NOT have anything relevant but wanted to see it anyway.  Thank you.  The Kinchs came to Qld in Aus in 1883, I'm nearly certain that is them with Sydney aged 3???
