Hello all,
Well it's 10pm Saturday night in SE of South Australia and my week just turned Completely To S..t!

First my hubby felt unwell last sat night, asked me to take him to be tested on sunday.

I thought best I get tested too.

Tuesday, both positive.

At the same time my son-in-law tested positive, after which nephew(who lives with them) also positive.
Tonight my daughter messaged me to say she is too.
They have a 6yo and 1yo who are ok at the moment.
She will have to get nursing staff to test them at home.

This has all gone down the gurgler due to an outbreak at the local meatworks.
They kept working to clear chillers and provide meat for Woolies.
My fellas work there.

I am so upset and angry for my family!
Sorry to vent to you, but I have no-one else.
Bit teary too.

I had been so careful and stayed home on the farm for weeks.

So sorry to hear that Chris, I'm not surprised you're angry, it feels like a slap in the face when you've been so careful. I hope it doesn’t make you feel too poorly and your husband soon feels better. Feel free to vent, there are lots of us here to lend a sympathetic ear. Sending you a virtual hug across the miles.  :-*

Thanks Roobarb,

Apart from being in isolation, I just feel isolated!
It is nice to have someone besides cats, dog, horses n the old boy to talk to.

I've often wondered during the last two years how we would have managed without our modern technology, it's good to be able to 'talk ' to people at the other side of the world in an instant. When I had Covid I was asked if I wanted to be put into a virtual hospital ward (due I think to my asthma). I reported my oxygen and pulse readings twice a day via an app, one day I forgot to report the second one and a nurse was soon on the phone to me to check I was okay. It was a great comfort to me despite it being only a virtual ward, I was very grateful to be able to use it.

I hope you manage to settle down a bit, I'm sure the animals must be a help.

Roobarb, that's interesting. I was speaking to someone the other day and they said someone they knew was on a virtual ward. I wondered what on earth she meant, now I know  :) Thanks!

Yes, the diaries have been marvellous ,a great safety valve .
As I did not start them I don’t like to get pushy so it is lovely that  Roobarb
has invited you to let off steam with us .
She was instrumental ( comb and toilet paper instumental  ;D) in starting the diaries and they are much appreciated.
We almost feel we know one another.
Hope you all soon feel better .
Cheerio.
Viktoria.

Thanks for the accolade Viktoria but I can't take the credit, it was actually Trystan who started the diary threads, I just picked it up and ran with it!  ;D It was such a help to me when I was spending so much time alone.
