He was playing the fiddle in a pub called the saddle when he passed away and is buried in St Andrews opposite the pub.

Hi

Absalom Smith was baptised 28th Feb 1768
Son of Thomas and Hannah Smith vagrants.

Also Fido son of Thomas and Sarah Smith vagrants bapt on 10 April 1768

Big gap back to
Jasper Smith bapt 30 Nov 1761 Thomas and Sarah again noted as vagrants.

I cannot see a bapt for Sarah/ Hannah Taylor in the village for around 1729 there are no Taylor births around that date.

Do you have a marriage for the parents?

I have a few Smith marriages in the village that marry into my Lambourn line ( various spellings).

Hi.

I haven't looked further for the baptism I was replying to OP who had Sarah/ Hannahs birth as in North Marston  1729 but she does not appear in the register. There are no Taylor baptisms between 1660 & 1750.
